We are seeking a compassionate and team oriented Medical Assistant and/or Chiropractic Assistant team member to join our growing unified Medical, Physical Therapy and Chiropractic office. The medical assistant is the "bloodline" of the office. They maintain flow of patient treatment in the office while being conscious and aware of the timing in treatment areas while training exercises and supervising spinal traction. In this role, you will work to assist our providers including the chiropractic physician and medical providers especially our patients. Your primary job duties will include taking vitals, exam room prep, applying symptomatic treatments such as ICE/Heat, Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Spinal decompression and physiatry "customized exercise trainings", motivating patients with their health and life goals, assist in regenerative medicine stem cell therapy procedures, draw blood etc. You will also help keep our EHR accurate and work areas clean and organized, as well as ensure our office provides a welcoming environment for our patients.
You will also be provided on the job training to receive your CA certification if you don't already have one.
Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
• Keeps facility clean, sanitized, disinfected and organized
• Notifies patient(s) and provider(s) with any changes to recommendations and/or
provided care plan
• Recording patients' vital signs, documenting physicians' notes and changes in medical
conditions
• Drawing blood for PRP and/or allergen testing
• Prepping exam rooms for clinical procedures and assisting practitioners with patient
care Assisting physicians during routine checkups, outpatient procedures and other
physical exams
• Monitoring and documenting patient symptoms for physicians' review during clinical
exams
• Providing compassionate patient support, care, attention and assistance during office
visits
• Administers Physical Medicine routines under the direction of supervising physicians
including: Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Cryotherapy, Myofascial Release, Traction,
Therapeutic Exercises, and Neuromuscular Re-Education
• Create a healing experience deepening the patient connection to the office Inspire
patients to achieve their health goals
• Be a positive and powerful influence for your team and your patients
• Answer patient questions and provide assistance when necessary
• Manage inventory of necessary clinic supplies and coordinate reordering
• Counsel patients by transmitting physician's recommendations
• Educate patients by providing clinical information and instructions
• Basic understanding of terminology, anatomy, and clinical tasks
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and fellow team members
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Familiarity with digital record systems (EHR)
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
• Preferred Experience with AdvancedMD EHR Software
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a certificate program as a Medical Assistant or CA
• Familiar with medical terminology
• Excellent organizational and time management skills Chiropractic Assistant "On the
Job" Training will be provided in office to be able to take and mark x-rays
